Trouble Locating Minors
While there are websites dedicated to finding missing children, if you want to do a people search on a minor under 18 it may be tough to do. Some companies state they will not do it.
That's because searching for minors is a controversial topic that usually involves birth parents searching for the child they gave up. Some argue that children who are minors can suffer stress if they are abruptly found by birth parents. Also, they argue that adoptive parents may be kept out of the loop, which can be damaging to a family.
Also, please note that it may be hard to find a person who has just turned 18 because of the lack of life experience that has kept them off national databases. Experts advise you try to locate these individuals by locating the parent or guardian who is, or most recently was, responsible for their care.
